THE LEGACY

Before implant dentistry had a curriculum, Carl Misch wrote one — and put a handpiece in the hands of every dentist who came to learn.

His prosthetically driven treatment philosophy, bone-density classifications, and textbooks became the shared language of the specialty. The institute he founded in 1984 has carried that standard for four decades — evidence, mentorship, and surgical excellence, taught shoulder to shoulder.

Continuing it isn't ceremony for Dr. Jon Misch. It's the family practice.

MY ROLE

Leading the second generation.

As CEO since 2023, Dr. Misch directs the institute's course development, faculty, and sponsorships — and its expansion into international live-surgery programs, beginning with Mexico City. He teaches across the five-session continuum himself, in the same room where thousands of clinicians placed their first implant.

The curriculum keeps its founding spine — diagnose prosthetically, operate on evidence — updated with digital planning, immediate protocols, and the peri-implant science his own research contributes to.
